Juris Medicus Employee Spotlight: Heather Ledbetter

 

As Director of Client Development at Juris Medicus (JM), Heather Ledbetter leads the sales team with “Humble Confidence” and offers “Ownership Thinking” to ensure they are positioned for success. Heather collaborates and supports fellow team members and departments to proactively generate leads and “Honor the Relationship” with clients. Q: How/why did you get into this industry? 

A: I am new to this industry, but I bring 30 years of healthcare experience, first as a medical social worker in mental health and long-term care and later in healthcare administration and business development. Although I initially pursued a career as a hospital administrator and obtained an MBA with a healthcare focus, my experience as an interim CEO led me to rediscover my passion for client and business development, as well as nurturing successful sales teams. 

Q: How did you find/why did you choose JM? 

A: I was contacted by a recruiter at JM, and thought to myself, “Legal services? What do I know about that?” However, recognizing that truly good salesmanship transcends any occupation, I became intrigued after understanding the company's leadership and core values. I am eager for the challenge of a new arena and excited to collaborate with this dynamic team. 

Q: What do you like most about your specific department and/or role? 

A: I love the collaborative nature within the company and the sales team. No one person has all the answers and I try to pull the best from each member and value their contributions, embracing an “Operate as One” philosophy. Excited about the substantial growth ahead and the expansion of our services, I am thrilled to guide the sales team into this new era and look forward to the strategic components and team development in the future. 

Q: What internal accomplishment are you most proud of? 

A: In my short time with JM, I have taken pride in the strides we have made in improving our data capture to help guide the team’s efforts with a more targeted approach. Witnessing collaboration between the sales and case management departments to increase client loyalty and case volume is particularly gratifying.  

Q: Are there any stories/memories you would like to share? 

A: I just cannot say enough about the heart of this company. It is evident that Juris Medicus truly cares for and values everyone. I am still impressed every day that each person genuinely exemplifies the core values of the company.  

Q: What do you think sets JM apart from competitors or other companies? 

A: I know firsthand that the leadership of this company wants to do the right thing, always. They operate with integrity and a strong moral compass and wish to “Honor the Relationship.” JM also strives to exceed customer expectations in everything they do. I could not work for a company that did not strive to meet a ceiling of excellence in all realms.  

Q: If you were an attorney-client (or an expert witness), what would you find most valuable about the process at JM? 

A: Our case management team is invaluable, and I am in awe of all that they do each day. Clients rest easy knowing their expert needs are in the best hands possible and that our follow-through and management are second to none. Through consistent communication, we build trust and loyalty with our experts and clients. Our expert recruiting team ensures that our expert panel has only the most tenured, distinguished, and exceptional physicians while our clients have consistent, successful case outcomes because of the level of expertise and credibility our experts provide. The combination of our experts and case managers is key, and it is complemented by the exceptional efforts of the sales team, which is the catalyst for this process. Each member works hard to connect with new and existing clients to provide excellent follow-up, education, and updates on all things JM.
